Framework Base-Apps: Layouts & Navigation Screens
WebApp: Channels Content Homescreen (Type 1)
The Home Screen of the WebApp is the most complex among all framework base apps. Built for browsers on desktops, tablets and phones, naturally the WebApp can contain more functionalities than TV Apps which are limited by the device's operating system. Furthermore, TV Apps are also limited by the way they have to be navigated with a TV remove control, instead of by finger-tap/swipe, mouse and keyboard as usually used when browsing websites on a desktop, tablet or smartphone.
This gives the WebApp additional capabilities for features including live-chat, embedded forms for donations or feedback, links back to your website or online store, embedded facebook posts, and more.
Also the content navigation structure is a bit more flexible. Consistent with the navigation structure of other TV Apps, the WebApp displays Live Channels at the top, and rows of on-demand Channels below, with their respective Sub Channel or Media Groups Images in a Channel Row, or Video Thumbnails from Channels which are not sub-divided by Sub Channels or Media Groups.
WebApp: Sub Channel Expansion View on Home Screen Type 1
Instead of linking to a separate Sub Channel Playlist, the WebApp has the capability to expand the Video Playlist of Sub Channels or Media Groups below the selected (clicked or tapped) Sub Channel or Media Group.
This expands an area with Video Playlist and the title, description, and other metadata of the selected (clicked or tapped) Video.
WebApp: Sub Channel or Media Groups Screen (Type 2)
This is the alternate Sub Channel or Media Groups view which only exists when the Layout Type 2 "Channel List Home Screen" has been chosen.
Otherwise, with Layout Type 1 "Channels Content Homescreen", the same functionality, with the expansion area for Sub Channel or Media Groups Playlists, is already built into the Home Screen (Type 1).
WebApp: Player Page
The Player Page displays the Video Player with various functionalities, including full-screen option, screen casting (if included with your Lightcast Service Package), volume control, social sharing (if you allow it via the Media Cloud), and more.
When in standard mode (not in full-screen mode), the Player Page is designed to allow viewers to keep watching, while using functionalities like live-chat or facebook posting, with the right-hand slid-in menu expanded. This provides an immersive, interactive virtual experience.
Please note that top menu items can link to your website or online store. The WebApp comes with default menu items and features, but can be customized further at discounted customiozation rates.
